1-     اتسمت کثير من الأعمال النحتية في الحضارات القديمة ( الفرعونية – الاغريقية – الزنجية ) بالجروتسکية التشکيلية.
2-     تمثلت الجروتسکية في معالجات تشکيلية أهمها الدمج بين کائنات مختلفة والمبالغة والحذف الاضافة والاختزال في التفاصيل.
3-     تأثرت الاعمال النحتية السيريالية بالجروتسکية التشکيلية في منحوتات الحضارات القديمة.
4-     هناک اختلاف بين المنطلقات في النحت السيريالي والنحت ذو التعبير الخيالي في الحضارات القديمة ، حيث کان النحت السيريالي انعکاسا لنظرية التحليل النفسي لفرويد وتعبر عن عالم الاحلام والمکبوتات واللاوعي ، بينما نحت الحضارات القديمة کان انطلاقا من العامل الديني الاساطير .
