هدف البحث إلى بناء وحدة مقترحة في الاقتصاد المنزلي في ضوء بعض المهارات الحياتية قائمة علي نموذج هوكنز، وقياس فاعليتها علي تنمية مهارات التفكير المنظومي والمرونة المعرفية لدى (40) تلميذة من تلميذات الصف السادس الابتدائي عينة البحث، ولتحقيق ذلك قامت الباحثة بإعداد أدوات البحث لقياس المتغيرات التابعة وهي (اختبار مهارات التفكير المنظومي، ومقياس المرونة المعرفية), وبناء الوحدة المقترحة وتدريسها وفق إجراءات نموذج هوكنز، وتم استخدام المنهج الوصفي والمنهج شبه التجريبي ذو التصميم التجريبي القائم علي المجموعة التجريبية الواحدة، وأسفرت نتائج البحث عن: فاعلية الوحدة المقترحة في الاقتصاد المنزلي في ضوء المهارات الحياتية والقائمة علي نموذج هوكنز علي تنمية مهارات التفكير المنظومي والمرونة المعرفية لدى تلميذات الصف السادس الابتدائي (عينة البحث)، وكذلك وجود علاقة ارتباطية طردية دالة إحصائيا بين درجات التلميذات عينة البحث في اختبار مهارات التفكير المنظومي ككل ومهاراته من جهة ومقياس المرونة المعرفية ككل وبعديه من جهة أخري، وأوصي البحث بضرورة تضمين المهارات الحياتية بشكل متوازن في مناهج المرحلة الابتدائية واكسابها للتلاميذ وفق استراتيجيات تدريسية حديثة تحفزهم علي ممارسة مهارات التفكير المتنوعة للتعامل بكفاءة ومرونة وإيجابية مع متطلبات ومتغيرات الحياة اليومية.
 
 
 
            The research aimed to prepare a proposed unit at Home
Economics in the light of life skills based on the Hawkins Model, and to examine its effectiveness in developing systemic thinking skills and cognitive flexibility among a sample of (40) sixth grade female students. To achieve this aim, the researcher prepared the research tools to measure the dependent variables, which are: a Systematic Thinking Skills Test, Cognitive Flexibility Scale, in addition to preparing the proposed unit and teaching it according to the procedures of the Hawkins Model. The descriptive and the quasi-experimental approaches (of one experimental group design) were applied. And the research results revealed the effectiveness of the proposed unit at Home Economics in the light of life skills based on the Hawkins Model in developing systemic thinking skills and cognitive flexibility among the research sample of sixth grade female students; as well as there is a statistically significant positive correlation between the female students' scores on the Systematic Thinking Skills Test as a whole and its sub-skills on the one hand, their scores on the Cognitive Flexibility Scale as a whole and its two- dimensions on the other hand. The research recommended that life skills should be included in a balanced manner in the primary stage curricula to be taught to the students according to modern teaching strategies that motivate them to practice various thinking skills to deal efficiently, flexibly and positively with the requirements and variables of daily life.
